Social Responsibility

Cozee Displaced Women Initiative was started with the goal of helping displaced women in crisis areas such as Syria, Lebanon and Egypt and connects them to Swedish and international markets through their exquisite handcrafted items.

Cozee provides the right resources and tools to help women artisans who have fled the war and are facing challenges such as a lack of adequate humanitarian aid, high daily expenses, and harsh living conditions.

By empowering women, this initiative helps promoting gender equality, preventing child labour and marriage, nurturing psychological well-being, combating social isolation, and contributing to a more inclusive global economy.

Despite being forced to leave their possessions behind, they brought with them the knowledge of traditional skill sets passed down from their mothers and grandmothers, such as embroidery, crocheting, and knitting. These women can generate an income to sustain themselves and their children thanks to their tenacity, resourcefulness, and innovation.
